History of Thomas King Associates

Our History

Thomas King Associates was established on 1st September 1979 by its founder and former Managing Director Tom King. Tom decided to specialise in the supply of aircraft interior products and became a manufacturer’s agent selling aircraft parts and furnishings initially for US based manufacturers. Over the years our product range has grown and with the research and development of the products we now can supply products that cover many industries, such as, Airline, Trains and Marine.

Over the 25 years of being a leading sales agent for many multinational suppliers, Tom’s knowledge of aircrafts, the environmental, safety and cost changes have proved invaluable in ensuring that our customers have products that not only suit their needs but have been forefront in the market. Along side the years in the industry Tom’s background as a qualified Engineering Designer, surpassed our customers’ expectations.

In the late 1990’s, Tom’s youngest son Angus King joined the business as Sales Director. Angus was responsible for OEM sales and worked with aircraft manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers such as galley and monument manufacturers. Angus was to work in the business for 15 years until his sudden and unexpected death in July 2014.

Tom’s eldest son Duncan King joined the business in the early 2000’s as Marketing Director. Duncan specialised in handling sales to Airlines, Lessor's and MRO’s for aircraft in service known as retrofit or aftermarket sales.

In recent years, the business has expanded organically into similar industries with a full product range that covers many markets and a vaster range of products.

Duncan was appointed Managing Director of TKA in April 2015.

With 40 years trading Thomas King Associates, with their vast business knowledge and quality products are proud to not only trade globally but to also provide products to many customer across the globe.
